Treatment
I will be creating a one episode of a Children’s art and craft television programme that will last 20 minutes with a single presenter, and will be shown once a week. The programme will be targeted at 7 to 11 year olds and will include a wide range of crafts to do at home, using household objects such as bottle tops and newspapers, as well as relating these activities to the chosen theme of the week. For example, ancient Egyptian drawings or a special Halloween or Christmas episode. The show will also consist of three other segments including two ‘Big Arts’, which are fillers used to break up the craft activities for the viewers to complete at home. These ‘Big Arts’ will be created in wide open spaces using objects that can be found at home or out and about, for example salt, sand, water ect. The other element that will be included will be ‘The Artist of the Week’, this essentially will be where the presenter will showcase work that has been sent by viewers in the chance to win the title of ‘Artist of the week’ and a price consisting of a show medal and art set. The last segment is a stop motion plasticean character named ‘Splat’ who has a different adventure every episode but always seems to end in the same way (‘Splat becoming a splat).
Each episode will include three theme related craft activities to do at home, which will be broken up with two ‘Big Arts’ fillers, an stop motion animated character sketch that is linked with the episodes theme and then a final segment of the ‘Artist of the Week’.
